Emotional Impact of Key Bridge Collapse
Today we awoke to the harrowing news that the Francis Scott Key Bridge had collapsed after being struck by a boat. Our team at Behavioral Health System Baltimore is holding the people who were on the bridge at the time, their families and first responders in our thoughts.
As the local behavioral health authority for Baltimore City, BHSB has been working with state and city officials, neighboring jurisdictions, and local partners to coordinate emotional health services for those affected by this tragedy. Behavioral Health Crisis Response teams from Baltimore City and Baltimore County have been onsite providing support and will remain for as long as they are needed. BHSB is also working with behavioral health providers to determine how the loss of the bridge will affect access to care for their clients and changes that may be needed.
